On behalf of FreedomWorks’ activist community, I urge you to contact your senators and representative and ask them to co-sponsor the Davis-Bacon Repeal Act, S. 244 and H.R. 743, introduced by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa). The bill would repeal Davis-Bacon Act of 1931, which requires all construction projects funded by the federal government to pay workers the local prevailing wage.
On behalf of our over 6.9 million activists nationwide, I urge you to call your representative and ask him or her to vote YES on the King/Duncan/Foxx/Amash/Franks Amendment #1 to the DRIVE Act, H.R. 22. This Amendment would save taxpayers a great deal of money on the projects funded by the highway bill by preventing the Davis-Bacon Act’s onerous wage requirements from applying to those projects.
As one of our more than 6.9 million FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative today and ask him or her to support the Responsibility in Federal Contracting Act (RIFCA), H.R. 924. Introduced by Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), the bill would save taxpayers billions of dollars by changing the way that the “prevailing wage” is calculated under the Davis-Bacon Act.
Dear Representative,
On behalf of over a million FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to vote YES on amendment #273 to H.R. 1 the Full Year Continuing Appropriation Act that would prohibit any funds from being used to implement Davis-Bacon wage requirements. Since its enactment in 1931, the Davis-Bacon Act has amounted to a bad deal for taxpayers and small businesses. Repealing the Davis-Bacon Act would generate an estimated 31,000 new construction jobs and save taxpayers $60 billion over the next decade.
On behalf of hundreds of thousands of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to vote “Yes” on the Mack Amendment to HR 1262, the Water Quality Investment Act. Representative Connie Mack’s (R, FL-14) amendment to this bill would strip out Davis-Bacon prevailing wage provisions that would stifle competition and hurt jobs.
