AL CSE Surveys Legislators About Sept. 9 Vote to Increase Taxes

Today, on behalf of our 7,000 members in Alabama, Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE) began sending a survey to Alabama legislators asking how they will vote on September 9 on the largest tax increase in state history.

This vote will determine the direction of Alabama’s government and politics for years to come and citizens have a right to know where their elect officials stand.

CSE will report the results of the survey to our Alabama members and to the public.

Stephen Flaherty, Director of Campaign Operations at CSE, said, “Citizens have a right to know where their legislators stand on this issue and our members want to exercise that right.”

A copy of the survey follows.

WHERE DO YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS STAND ON THE LARGEST TAX HIKE IN ALABAMA HISTORY?

Alabama Citizens for a Sound Economy knows an informed electorate makes better choices. We believe that state lawmakers need to let their constituents know whether they support Governor Riley’s $1.2 billion tax increase or do they think there is a better way. Please take the time to answer these questions, sign the sheet, and report back to Alabama CSE. We are going to post the lawmakers results on our website.
