Federal Court Tells the Obama Administration to Obey the Law

In a significant victory for basic law and order, a federal court in Wyoming Tuesday affirmed a basic constitutional concept: that the executive branch must comply with laws passed by Congress. Such is the power and unaccountability of the regulatory state that this counts as news.

How Fracking Reduces Greenhouse Gases

The Department of Energy published data last week with some amazing revelations — so amazing that most Americans will find them hard to believe. As a nation, the United States reduced its carbon emissions by 2 percent from last year. Over the past 14 years our carbon emissions are down more than 10 percent. On a per unit of GDP basis, U.S. carbon emissions are down by closer to 20 percent.

FreedomWorks Activists at NC Fracking Hearing

My name is Mary Allison Page and I live in Gibsonville, North Carolina. This year, I will be a rising sophomore at Western Alamance High School. On Wednesday morning, I addressed the North Carolina Mining and Energy Commission to express my support for hydraulic fracturing in North Carolina. I attended the hearing with FreedomWorks activists from all across North Carolina.

"Chicks Dig Fracking" Educates Women on Energy Issues

As a professional in the oil and gas industry, Susan Fakharzadeh was looking for fun a way to engage more women in issues related to energy, especially fracking. Her goal was “to take out some of the volatility associated with the word...I wanted to take back the word ‘frack’ so that it wasn’t always associated with something negative.” Thus, Chicks Dig Fracking was born.

Study Shows Fracking Good for Water Conservation

Fracking is one of those issues that gets people really riled up, and almost always, the most prominent and vocal detractors have no idea what they’re talking about. Those who study the issue and follow the science tend to support fracking. Recently, we have been given another reason to do so: the very water which fracktivists claim is harmed by fracking.

Hollywood Anti-Fracking Activists Proven Wrong

Celebrity “activists” are everywhere and they love to tell us how to live our lives. They're often oblivious to the effects of bad policy on real people, and in this case, why would they care about providing affordable energy to the masses? They can afford skyrocketing electricity rates, why can't you?  Yes, the latest round of celebrity do-gooders have plenty of opinions about fracking. Also true to form, these celebrity fracktivists are terribly misinformed.

Polls Shift in Favor of Coal Jobs, Enviros Respond with Suggestions of Violence

This weekend, environmentalists in Portland and Vancouver (WA) staged several protests against fossil fuel use in an attempt to raise awareness of the evil of petroleum products. As I've reported, one of their big issues is to try to turn the transportation of coal via rail into the Spotted Owl of this century. They're pulling out all their old tricks to try to appeal to the Portlandia spirit and gain the sympathies of voters in the region.
