North Carolina 72-Hour Push

Grassroots activists are out in full force across the state of North Carolina, excited by the possibility of forcing the political establishment into a runoff. Dr. Greg Brannon is vying for the Republican Senate bid, representing conservatives and libertarians that want government to stay true to the Constitution, and to stop spending money we don't have.

The Tea Party Movement Turns Five

Happy Birthday to the little movement that could. Ignited by a spark from the most unlikely of places-a cable business news channel watched mostly by investors-and spread by social media, a surprising revolution had its most humble beginnings five years ago today.

Arizona: Grassroots Taking On The Governor's Henchmen

The coalition of hospital lobbyists, insurance companies, and political operatives who pushed through Medicaid expansion under Obamacare in Arizona have a repeal fight on their hands.Over 300 grassroots activists came together on Saturday in Phoenix to kick off a petition drive to put repeal of Governor Brewer's Medicaid expansion plan on the ballot. If successful, the drive will showcase the power that comes when principled conservatives organize inside a political party.

RNC Rules - Quit Yawning and Pay Attention

"Oh, no. Another post about the RNC rules. Let me see how fast I can click away from this..."Stop! I get it. Who cares about a political party's internal rules? And when I see "Rule 16(a)(2)" and "delegate’s affirmative duty under state law or state party rule", my eyes glaze over a little, too.  Read on, for why you should care. This stuff determines who gets elected and how much freedom you continue to enjoy.

The Fight Continues Against the RNC Power Grab

Last August the seeds of dissention against the grassroots inside the RNC were sown and began to take root. At the committee meeting held during the Republican National Convention, several rules changes were adopted that reduced the power of the grassroots conservatives and libertarian leaning activists inside the GOP.

How You Can Save Your Country

Government goes to those who show up, right?  We've learned that we can't go to sleep and expect our nation to survive. Those with a penchant to support overbearing government programs to solve every societal ill never rest. Those of us who want to rein in government spending and fight for individual liberty cannot rest either. To limit government and keep it honest, we can't start at the top. We have to start at the bottom, at the most local level, where the trouble  often starts. The best place to start saving the country is right where you are. Local government controls much of what you and your family does on a daily basis.  Whether it's water rights, local taxes, street signage or the curriculum being taught in your schools, you should have a voice and be involved.  Find your passion and get busy. There are some activities that are easy to start doing that can produce immediate results, and give you a great sense of accomplishment along the way.

FreePAC Connects Grassroots, Heroes

FreedomWorks held another of its successful FreePAC grassroots activism events October 19, this time in Kissimmee, Florida, near Orlando.  Freedom-loving activists from around the region came to learn the basics of getting out the vote (GOTV) and to be inspired by great speeches. The highlight for this jaded blogger is getting to meet the heroes of the movement.

First Principles: The Tea Party Focuses GOP Platform on Limited Government

When the Tea Party emerged on the national scene in early 2009, pundits, politicos and the entrenched party establishment questioned whether or not these newly engaged activists would have a lasting affect on the political process.    So, much like we did with our "Tea Party Debt Commission", we went to our over 1.8 million activists and supporters to find out what direction they wanted the GOP to head.  What was important to them when it came to the future of the Republican Party?
