Virginia's ObamaCare Lawsuit Moving Forward

Refusing to bow to federal pressure to dismiss Virginia's health care reform lawsuit, a federal judge agreed that the lawsuit should move forward.  The lawsuit, championed by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, challenges the constitutionality of the individual mandate in ObamaCare.

Your New Health Care System!

The Joint Economic Committee released this chart today explaining what the new health care legislation entails. Kevin Brady (R-TX) said "This portrays only about one-third of the complexity of the final bill. It’s actually worse than this."

EDITORIAL: Washington will take care of you

Democracy and Power 103:  Government money In general, the art of government consists in taking as much money as possible from one party of the citizens to give to the other. – Voltaire (1764) The money taxed and spent by the politicians comes from the labor and ingenuity of millions of working persons.  Politicians spend other peoples’ money.

March 16 Update

By now you should have heard all about the People's Surge Against ObamaCare 2.0 on March 16.  If not, go here to get caught up. Tuesday looks like it will be a nice 64 degrees and partly cloudy, great protesting weather.  Bring yourself, a friend or five,  and comfortable walking shoes - we have alot of ground to cover.

Two House Health Care Bills

Yesterday, November 3rd, 2009, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) introduced a 219-page Republican health care bill to be considered alongside HR 3962, the Democrat’s health care overhaul bill.  The Republican bill was submitted as an amendment intended to be a substitute for the entirety of HR 3962.  Additionally, the Manager’s Amendment, revisions to the original text of HR 3962, were released today, November 4th, 2009.  You will find links to both proposals below.

The fiscal disaster of Pelosicare

Just like the Baucus bill, the health care “reform” bill which is being pushed by Nancy Pelosi (and which she might or might not have the votes to get through the House) is nothing more than financial smoke and mirrors, a massive tax and spend program which will cost far more than Pelosi or her useful idiots at the CBO want you to believe.

Everyday 14,000 Americans Lose Their Coverage, Really?

On September 9, 2009 Barack Obama gave a speech on health care before a Joint Session of Congress in which he said that “every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage.”  In an email to its members on August 27, 2009 promoting vigils for those who can’t afford health insurance, MoveOn cited the same statistic of 14,000 people losing their coverage every day.  From where did this figure come and is it accurate?  MoveOn cites a study done by the Center for American Progress (CAP), a liberal think tank, in February of 2009 as the source of the statistic.
