Michigan CSE Turns Out Members for Nader Ballot Push

CSE Michigan is taking action to help put Ralph Nader on the Election 2004 ballot in Michigan on the eve of the state’s July 15th deadline. CSE is activating the Michigan grassroots network through email and phone trees, encouraging CSE members to sign the Nader campaign’s petition for inclusion on the ballot this November.

The Michigan CSE email encourages CSE members to take action, emphasizing that putting Ralph Nader on the ballot in Michigan will help CSE accomplish its goal of a real debate on the key economic issues facing America.

Michigan CSE Campaign Coordinator David Nyberg commented:

“Of course, we’re not big fans of Ralph Nader’s policies, but he’s important to the process. We think it is past time for the Left to have a debate about the key issues facing our nation. Where does John Kerry stand on Social Security reform, and on fundamental tax reform? We know where Ralph Nader stands, and we think including him in the election will force John Kerry to define his positions instead of trying to muddle them. Let’s get Nader on the ballot and force the Left to have this debate.”

Like all CSE efforts, this initiative is driven by our local grassroots activists. A local Michigan CSE volunteer and student at Michigan State University, Dan Wholihan, of Howell, Michigan, assisted in this effort and has been a CSE activist for over a year.
