Letter of Support for the Federal Repeal of Expensive Exchanges Act

Dear FreedomWorks member, As one of our millions of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your Representative and urge him or her to co-sponsor the Federal Repeal of Expensive Exchanges (FREE) Act, H.R. 1908.  Introduced by Rep. Matt Salmon (AZ-5), this bill would repeal ObamaCare’s expensive insurance premium subsidies, as well as the unconstitutional employer and individual mandates.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Obamacare Individual Mandate

On Wednesday, The Hill reported that the Obama administration had begun to implement the individual mandate at the heart of Obamacare. Noting its unpopularity, rules have been written by the IRS and Department of Health and Human Services that "downplay the scope" of the mandate and emphasize the exemptions. As a curious blogger, I wanted to see for myself the fact sheet that was disseminated.

Refuting J.D. Kleinke’s “Conservative Case for ObamaCare”

Little lasts for long in the world of politics. Popular politicians grow obscure, national movements wither (Occupy, anyone?), and broad coalitions splinter. One remarkable exception to that general rule, however, is the coalition to repeal and replace ObamaCare. Despite multiple years passing since President Barack Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law, the “full repeal” coalition has actually gathered steam.

FreedomRadio: What should -- and shouldn't -- replace the Democrats' health mandate

Click here to listen! If the Supreme Court strikes down the individual mandate, what next? My prediction is the mandate could very easily rise from the grave in a new form, namely, the "conservative" idea of giving everybody a new universal health care tax credit, coupled with a policy called "auto-enrollment." I call it a soft mandate, and it’s arguably as bad as the original.

Would Patients Really “Die on the Sidewalk” in the Absence of Government Mandates?

Last week, while the Supreme Court heard the ObamaCare case, supporters and protesters outside the courthouse debated one another about the merits and constitutionality of the controversial law.

ObamaCare: Supreme Court may postpone ruling till 2016

This morning's newspapers report an ominous development in the ObamaCare litigation, now pending in the U.S. Supreme Court: The Court posted a seemingly minor but potentially important administrative change that reminds us that it could postpone a final ruling on the constitutionality of ObamaCare until the middle of 2016!  Specifically, the high Court increased the time it will devote to hearing oral arguments on whether the mandate to purchase health insurance is a "tax" for purposes of something called the Tax Anti-Injunction Act (26 U.S.C. § 7421(a)).
