Ref C Will Take Away TABOR Tax Refunds

Colorado Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights Fact of the Day # 24 from NTU/ CUT

Some advocates of tax-and-spend policies are trying to mislead voters, saying “Coloradoans’ tax refund checks won’t be affected” under Referendum C. While it is true that you will still receive your IRS and state tax refunds if you have overpaid your taxes throughout the year, you would still forfeit your TABOR refund checks for at least the next five years if Referendum C passes – potentially amounting to more than $3,000 for the average family of four.
