School Choice is a Winning Issue

Demographics matter, and after the disappointing 2012 election results, the GOP has decided it may be a good idea to focus on growing the party by reaching out to the youth and minority communities.  Ignoring certain demographics will continue to hurt the party, as will ignoring key issues.  Just like during the 2012 campaign cycle, the GOP is leaving out a key issue that could not only grow the party, but more importantly, could help millions of children receive a better education. I'm referring to school choice.

Building the Community: Small Acts Equal Big Gains

It’s funny how the most innocuous and inconspicuous moments can turn out to be the most profound. My education and professional background is firmly rooted in the blood sport of politics. Outside of earning my degree in political science, and working in the field, I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent sitting in political campaign strategy conferences and seminars across the country.

Can We Stop Pretending Democrats Care About Black People, Immigrants?

Perhaps the greatest strength of the Democratic party is its ability to present itself as empathetic, caring and compassionate while simultaneously pushing policies that hurt the very people they claim to represent. The fact that they continually get away with this bald-faced sleight of hand is a testament both to their rhetorical skill and the ineptness of the Republican opposition.

Tim Scott Makes History With Appointment to U.S. Senate

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appointed Rep. Tim Scott to be the replacement for outgoing Sen. Jim DeMint. The move was highly anticipated since DeMint announced that he would be departing the Senate on December 6th. Scott, a Tea Party favorite, will bring a strong message of conservative principles to the Senate; one that is centered around limited government, lower taxes, and free enterprise.

Building a Machine To Win A Culture

People are reading entirely too much into President Obama's re-election. He and Organizing for America, the Democratic Party, and allied groups simply beat Romney and the Republican National Committee, state parties, and aliied groups at getting out the vote. The reason Obama was able to do that is not because of policy or growing popular satisfaction with socialism. He convinced people that he was on their team, and they were on his. After that, nothing Romney said made a bit of difference.

Handicapping the GOP after Tuesday's loss

Tuesday night was brutal.  If Republicans ever doubted that our message wasn't getting through or that we face a formidable enemy with all of the right supporters - unions, foreign interests, the government, the entire media complex, higher education, and K-12 Education, that illusion has been forever shattered.
