I Don't Have Kids, But I'm Forced To Buy Pediatric Dental Insurance

Good news, readers. I now have pediatric dental insurance. I don’t have kids, I have a dog.  I'm not responsible for the teeth of any children at all, but I’ve got the insurance now just in case. I don’t need pediatric dental insurance, I didn’t know I wanted pediatric dental insurance, but Obama thinks I do, so I must now buy it.

Tell Your Representative to Support the ObamaCare Taxpayer Bailouts Prevention Act, H.R. 3541

[Note: FreedomWorks has also endorsed the Senate companion bill by Marco Rubio, HERE]As one of our millions of FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative today and urge him or her to support H.R. 3541, the “ObamaCare Taxpayer Bailout Prevention Act”. Sponsored by Congressman Tim Griffin (R-AR), this bill would simply eliminate the section of ObamaCare that provides for taxpayer bailouts of health insurance companies.

10 Times Gov. Kasich Lied to Promote Obamacare in 2013

Governor John Kasich was elected in 2010 as a small-government conservative, so in 2013 he came up with several false talking points to justify his fight for the Obamacare Medicaid expansion.

ObamaCare: Forcing Families To Make Tough Choices

Her status update caught my eye, but only because I'm used to seeing this friend write about her role in the latest play at the community theatre, or post about something hilarious one of her kids said.  She doesn't post much of anything political, and I can't remember ever seeing her complain.  But this post was different. Kelly had just received a new premium quote to cover her family, which includes her husband and their five children.

Less Work, Less Economic Growth – the Unintended Consequences of ObamaCare

Democracy and Power 106: Unintended Consequences The law of unintended consequences is what happens when a simple system tries to regulate a complex system.   The political system is simple; it operates with limited information (rational ignorance), short time horizons, low feedback, and poor and misaligned incentives.  Society, in contrast, is a complex, evolving, high-feedback, incentive-driven system.  When a simple system tries to regulate a complex system

Medicaid Expansion: Making The Problem Worse

Obamacare is struggling to survive its encounter with the real world. We were promised it would decrease the number of uninsured, lower health insurance prices, allow consumers to keep their policies and doctors, reduce Emergency Room usage, or reduce costs with preventive care.  None of those promises were ever true, and now they're being proven such. Even the expansion of the Medicaid program is proving counterproductive. All of that points to a simple truth. You can't legislate reality.

Expect More of the Same From Obamacare in 2014

When the Obama Administration quietly announced a year delay in the Obamacare employer mandate on the eve of the 4th of July, it came as a big surprise. But knowing what we do now about the nonfunctional nature of the healthcare.gov backend, it's completely unsurprising that they delayed the employer mandate. In 2014, expect delays, waivers, and unconstitutional ad hoc changes to Obamacare and other laws to continue.
