Capitalist, Christian, Libertarian... Farmer?

While the battle in Congress rages on over the Farm Bill, and the partisan divide widens over just who should get the most taxpayer funded welfare, I have been living a rather interesting life in direct contrast to all that the Farm Bill represents.

If Women Still Make Less Than Men, It's On Purpose

Today is "Equal Pay Day:" the 50th anniversary of the passage of the "Equal Pay Act" which, according to John F. Kennedy and most of his successors, was supposed to be the moment when society finally became equal and women earned precisely as much as men for the same jobs.

Northwest Coal Terminals Advance Despite Opposition From Environmental Groups

As I've documented in previous posts, the organized environmental left is marshalling forces to oppose Powder River Basin (PRB) coal exports to Asia via ports in the Pacific Northwest. Despite their best efforts at fear mongering about supposed environmental effects, local officials are beginning to push back against the prevailing narrative. Northwest Coal Train Fight - The Modern Day Spotted Owl

For the past several years, coal industry officials have been attempting to secure approval to ship coal from Pacific Northwest ports to expanding markets in Asia. This would entail approval to increase rail shipments from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming and Montana to new or greatly expanded terminals in Washington and Oregon.

Government Regulation of Alcohol is Bad M`kay

Regulation of alcohol in the United States uses  a three-tiered system  that perpetuates big business’s control on the alcohol industry and has helped maintain a cartel-like hold on the marketplace ever since the end of alcohol prohibition in 1933.

Austin Bag Ban: Building a Foundation for Tyranny

Austin Texas, whose claim to fame is its prolific “weirdness”, has undertaken a new effort to catapult their “weirdness” to new and unimaginable heights. While liberal mayors and governors across the nation have been busy waging war on guns, profit, and families, the liberal Austin City Council has been lamenting their unfortunate location within the red state of Texas, desperately searching for something to ban.
