Taxpayer March on Washington Scheduled for September 12, 2009

Washington, DC –  Over the last six months the national debt skyrocketed by nearly $3 trillion. According to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, our national debt will more than double by 2019.  Americans will have to pay for this stratospheric spending spree first by begging foreign nations to buy our bonds, and later through higher taxes and inflation.

Sanford’s Down, Sarah’s Out, Franken's In; Is the Tea Party Over?

It’s been a strange and troubling few weeks for advocates of lower taxes and limited government. Nancy Pelosi successfully rammed what may be the largest tax hike in American history through the House of Representatives. Two rapidly rising stars in the GOP have unexpectedly tumbled back to Earth. And a federally-funded special interest power grab looms over the health care system.

Party rallies are already planned in 1,267 cities and towns across the nation, and the list grows longer as more volunteers who feel they have been taxed enough join the effort.

It's that TEA time again

Isn't it funny how a string of good old fashioned, car-burning riots in the middle east has become a trendy global cause celebre for freedom, while peaceful protests against government waste and exorbitant taxes in America were dubbed "unhealthy" by the president's top adviser and "racist" by some in the media?

More tea parties planned for July 4

Reflecting on the success of the tea party events held in Albany and Leesburg earlier in the year, officials plan to spend the Independence Day holiday protesting what they say is wasteful government spending.Organizers from Dougherty, Lee and Sumter counties are joining forces to host a tea party on the Fourth of July in Plains City Park."We are all combining efforts on this one," said Mike Sabot, one of the organizers for the event. "We are expecting (the attendance) to be bigger. Anything over 1,000 we will be happy with."

LAMBRO: New Protests Planned

Last month's nationwide "tea party" demonstrations to protest massive government spending increases and rising taxes received relatively little coverage from the national news media.Liberal big-government groups dismissed them as the work of right-wing advocacy organizations in Washington, and the events were so dispersed - most of them in small cities and towns - that no one could be sure how many actually had turned out to attend them.

Reporter Says Outburst Was Spontaneous

Rick Santelli, the CNBC reporter whose on-air suggestion of a “Chicago Tea Party” to protest President Obama’s housing plan sparked an Internet sensation and a smattering of actual protests across the country, found himself on the defensive Monday.Mr. Santelli published a long blog post on CNBC’s Web site Monday evening denying any affiliation with the “tea party movements that have popped up” since his comments were broadcast. A number of blogs had questioned whether Mr. Santelli had coordinated his on-camera commentary with right-wing groups.
