New Farm Bill Must Harvest Savings and Not Plant New Entitlements

Dear Senator:

On behalf of the millions of members represented by our organizations, we urge you to vote no on The Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012 (Farm Bill). The bill barely makes a dent in the massive agricultural subsidy system and fails to decrease Washington’s outsized and outdated role in American agriculture.

Key Vote YES on the Toomey, Lee and Paul Budgets

Dear FreedomWorks member,

As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your Senators and urge them to vote YES on the separate budget plans offered by Senators Toomey, Paul, and Lee. Under Harry Reid’s leadership, the Senate has not passed a budget in over three years. Passing an annual budget for the federal government is a fundamental responsibility of Congress. Sens. Toomey, Paul, and Lee have introduced fiscally conservative budgets that contain much-needed reforms and will significantly cut the national debt.

Key Vote NO on the Interest Rate Reduction Act

Dear FreedomWorks member,

As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to vote NO on H.R. 4628, the Interest Rate Reduction Act. Introduced by Rep. Judy Biggert (R-IL), the bill would keep student loan rates at 3.4 percent instead of allowing them to rise to their 2007 level of 6.8 percent. The cost of keeping student loan interest rates low will cost taxpayers billions of dollars.

As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your senator and ask him or her to sign a letter by Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) in opposition to the United Nation’s Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). Congress is once again debating signing this international treaty that establishes a comprehensive set of rules governing the seas. All senators should take a principled stance against this unconstitutional treaty that threatens our national sovereignty and conflicts with basic free market principles.

Dear FreedomWorks member,

As one of our million-plus FreedomWorks members nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and ask him or her to cosponsor H.R. 1098, the Free Competition in Currency Act of 2011. Introduced by Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), the bill would repeal federal legal tender laws and tax laws that penalize the use of gold and silver coins as money. The Free Competition in Currency Act would help restore sound money by allowing Americans to choose a currency among competing currency that works best for them.
