FreedomWorks to Host Press Mixer with Activists from Key 2012 Electoral States Following A Grassroots Fly-In Boot Camp

WHAT: FreedomWorks will host a short press conference following its annual grassroots boot camp fly-in, which included over 120 activists from over 26 key electoral states.

The mixer will begin with some general prepared statements, followed by an opportunity for break-out sessions allowing national and state reporters to meet activists from specific battleground states and their efforts to organize on the ground for national, state, and local battles.

WHEN: Monday, June 11th, 2012, from 12:00-1:30pm EST. The general statements should take no longer than 15 minutes.

WHERE: FreedomWorks Headquarters, 400 North Capitol Street NW, Suite 765, Washington, DC 20001.

WHY: Once a year, FreedomWorks hosts an intensive, weekend-long grassroots boot camp for a diverse group of grassroots activists from across the country, ranging from established activists who played leading roles in the notable 2012 primary underdog victories, to promising volunteers new to the movement.

Topics during the boot camp training will include: policy analysis, FreedomWorks’ inside-outside strategy, grassroots activism, how to ‘Get out the Vote,’ endorsing candidates, old and new media training, and FreedomConnector.

FreedomWorks is a grassroots service center to over 1.6 million volunteer activists nationwide dedicated to advancing the fiscal conservative ideas of lower taxes, less government and more freedom.
