WHAT: FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe (author of Hostile Takeover) and Outreach Director Deneen Borelli (author of Blacklash) will join approximately 100 activists from the greater Pittsburgh, PA area for an honest and frank discussion about issues of race and the economy. This event is part of the national “Black and White” tour, which made its debut at FreePAC Ohio this month.

The tour will make its first round of stops in 11 states: Ohio, Florida, Indiana, Virginia, Illinois, Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Utah.

WHEN: Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 6-8pm ET.

6:00–7:00pm ET: Remarks by Matt Kibbe and Deneen Borelli, followed by Q&A

7:00–8:00pm ET: Book Signing (Hostile Takeover and Blacklash) and Reception

WHERE: The Erie Room in the DoubleTree Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown, One Bigelow Square, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15219.

WHY: Liberal economic policy disproportionately harms the black community. While general unemployment is currently 8.1 percent, unemployment in the black community is at a shocking 14.1 percent. Energy price increases fall hardest on minority households across the nation. The housing and subprime-mortgage crisis stands to cost minority homeowners 40 percent more of their wealth than white homeowners in similar circumstances.

People of all races, creeds, and colors benefit from more freedom—and suffer in its absence. If America hopes to build a better, more tolerant society, individuals need to advance the ideas of freedom and liberty. Simply put: Freedom is a “black and white” issue.
