CSE Letters: Thank you for your work on behalf of North Carolina’s taxpayers

I read David Rice’s article today concerning North Carolina’s participation in the Microsoft lawsuit. I agree with your comments on behalf of Citizens for a Sound Economy.

Next year North Carolina will have a new Attorney General, and I believe the General Assembly should send a clear message to him about lawsuits brought on behalf of North Carolina consumers. We have an obligation to provide consumer protection, but the General Assembly should not allow the Attorney General to use taxpayers’ dollars to participate in government-sponsored lawsuits that effectively serve only the purpose of persecuting success and innovation. The Attorney General should not involve the State in such lawsuits without first proving specific harm and that the case will result in a clear and defined benefit to North Carolina’s consumers.

Thank you for your work on behalf of North Carolina’s taxpayers.
