Americans were Intentionally Duped: “You Can Keep Your Insurance”

“You can keep your insurance,” was a statement repeated by nearly every person and group supporting our current move to universal health care.  In 2008, the Herndon Alliance tested the message and similar messages influencing our Democratic, presidential candidates of Obama, Clinton and Dean.  After his election, President Obama began repeating the message.  In 2009, Politico reported:

When President Barack Obama says Americans can maintain their “choice” of doctors and insurance plans, he is using a Herndon strategy for wringing fear out of a system overhaul.

Lachlan Markay at the Washington Free Beacon reports that Herndon Alliance encouraged over 150 liberal organizations to emphasize “keep your plan and doctor.”

A June, 2009 memo laid out an “effective message frame to counter attack,” advising ObamaCare proponents to promise that the law would “give you the freedom of choice to keep your current plan including keeping your current doctor.”

Then, 29 Senate Democrats joined the chant, “you can keep your insurance and doctor.”   That is over half of all the Democrats in the Senate, and it is reasonable to assume that half the House members invoked similar statements.   Of course, over 150 Democratic partners and liberal organizations were singing from the same song sheet as well.

During 2012, the Herndon Alliance continued to advise their partners to emphasize that Americans would be able to keep their insurance, and the message echoed and reverberated throughout America.  Dishonorably,  Americans were duped, and today millions of policies are being canceled.
Instead of safeguarding truth and honesty, the State has become a major source of insincerity and mendacity.

Mendacity and crony politics are destroying our trust and faith in our government.  ObamaCare must be repealed and an honest debate on health care in America must immediately commence.  America’s health system has been corrupt and unfair since World War II.  Now, is the time for an honest debate and resolution.  Period.
