FreedomWorks for America Celebrates Texas Primary Victories

Washington, DC- FreedomWorks for America and its network of over 160,000 activists across the state of Texas are celebrating several key victories in the Texas state primaries.

Matt Rinaldi defeated incumbent Bennett Ratliff in HD-115, despite his efforts to redistrict Rinaldi out of the district in fear of his challenge. Don Huffines defeated 24-year incumbent John Corona in SD-16 after his supporters knocked on more than 80,000 doors. Konni Burton is headed into a runoff with a seven point lead in SD-10, while Katrina Pierson in TX-32 lost to incumbent Pete Sessions with over one-third of the vote.

FreedomWorks for America President Matt Kibbe commented, “Last night’s strong turnout and the conservative upsets across the state are a clear sign that Texas is red, and plans to stay that way. While grassroots-backed conservative challengers were outspent by the establishment, they weren’t out-worked. These underdog wins are further evidence that that actions on the ground speak louder than big checks on the air.”

FreedomWorks for America is a grassroots service center to a community of over 6 million activists supporting candidates who believe in individual liberty and constitutionally-limited government.
