Key Vote YES on Amendments to Energy & Water Appropriations

As one of our over 6 million FreedomWorks activists nationwide, I urge you to contact your representative and urge him or her to vote YES on the following amendments to the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriation Act, H.R. 4923. FreedomWorks may score votes for any of the following fiscally conservative amendments in its 2014 Congressional Scorecard.

Additional amendments may be added to this list as necessary:

  • McClintock Amendment – To reduce spending for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, DOE-Nuclear Energy, and Fossil Energy Research and Development by $3.1 billion (Amendment failed, 97-321)
  • King Amendment – To prevent any money in this bill from being used to administer or enforce Davis-Bacon wage requirements, which force the government to pay expensive union wages for federal projects (Amendment failed, 181-239)
  • Hudson Amendment – To peg spending in non-defense accounts in the bill at 2008 levels, saving $1.3 billion

FreedomWorks may count any votes on these amendments as Key Votes when calculating our Economic Freedom Scorecard for 2014. The scorecard is used to determine eligibility for the FreedomFighter Award, which recognizes Members of Congress who consistently vote to support economic freedom.

Sincerely,
