FreedomWorks’ Statement on Jeb! Bush’s Exit from the GOP Primary

Following the suspension of Jeb! Bush’s presidential campaign after a lackluster showing in the South Carolina Republican presidential primary, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“The Republican establishment lined up behind Jeb Bush, spent millions of dollars trying to convince primary voters that he was a conservative, and failed miserably. Tonight should serve as a warning to other candidates who support big government policies like Common Core and increased government spending at a time when the national debt sits at $19 trillion.”

“Throughout the course of this primary season, voters have shown that they want something new and inspiring, which is why conservative candidates like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who have strong grassroots support and bold pro-growth policy ideas, have performed so well in these early states.”
