FreedomWorks Stands With House Freedom Caucus Against Budget

Following a decision by the House Freedom Caucus to oppose the FY 2017 budget proposed by House Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-Ga.-7) and Republican leadership, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“It’s clear the House Freedom Caucus carefully considered their options on the budget and tried to work with Chairman Price and Speaker Ryan to address their concerns. Unfortunately, despite a $19 trillion national debt and trillions more in mounting entitlement obligations, those concerns fell on deaf ears.”

“We wanted to see a budget that reduced spending by $30 billion, and we hoped that Chairman Price and Speaker Ryan would deliver. We’re disappointed that House Republican leaders are, once again, surrendering on the budget, rather than fighting for fiscally conservative principles when it matters most.”
