Donald Trump Should Continue to Talk About Tax Reform, Regulatory Reform

Following Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s economic speech at the Detroit Economic Club, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“Donald Trump mostly struck the right notes today in his speech. America needs fundamental tax reform that encourages job creation and investment in the economy. We also must rein in the out-of-control regulatory state, which is slowing economic growth and erases the constitutional lines between the legislative and executive branches.”

“Pro-growth policies benefit all Americans, providing them with opportunity and a path to prosperity. The policies of the Obama administration have left us worse off. Barack Obama will be the first president since Herbert Hoover not to see at least one year of economic growth of 3 percent. That’s a terrible legacy to leave behind. Unfortunately, Obama chose the path of big government, higher taxes, and excessive regulation, and Americans are feeling the effects.”

“We hope that Trump emphasizes fundamental tax reform and regulatory reform in the months ahead. Americans need to hear more about the policies that will put us back on the right course.”
