FreedomWorks Urges “No” Vote on Senate Version of Continuing Resolution

Ahead of a vote in the Senate on H.R. 5325, the continuing resolution to fund the federal government through early December, FreedomWorks CEO Adam Brandon commented:

“Some things never change. Congress continues to govern by crisis, relying on fear of a government shutdown to pass a continuing resolution that preserves the status quo and is fiscally irresponsible. Leadership of both parties in both chambers are teeing up a lame duck session in which retiring members, as well as those who lost re-election, will be able to vote to pass billions of dollars in deficits and debt on to current and future taxpayers. Congress is in this situation because it has failed to do its job, and the taxpayers are the ones who will be left to pick up the tab.”

On Monday, FreedomWorks issued a key vote alert against H.R. 5325. FreedomWorks will count the votes on this bill when calculating its Congressional Scorecard for 2016. The scorecard is used to determine eligibility for the FreedomFighter Award, which recognizes Members of the House and Senate who consistently vote to support economic freedom and individual liberty.
