Mad Maxine Waters

The fix is in. Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters has reinvented herself as a leading ethical watchdog of the Trump Administration. Surrounded by celebrities, she even received a standing ovation at the MTV Movie Awards while presenting the award for “Best Fight Against the System.” How quickly reputations can change.

Let’s not forget, Rep. Maxine Waters is a five-time winner of the “Most Corrupt Member of Congress” designation from the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). Waters successfully kept this title in 2017, and for good reason. Rep. Waters has a long resume of corruption and power abuse in Washington.

At the height of the financial crisis, Rep. Waters was busted for pushing the Treasury Secretary to meet with a group of executives from black-owned banks. The group included OneUnited, a bank in which Waters’ husband owned stock and previously served on the board. Thanks to Rep. Waters, OneUnited exploited the meeting as an opportunity to push for a $50 million bailout.

The bank ended up getting $12 million from the Troubled Asset Relief (TARP) program. Waters got a free pass from the Ethics Committee, but her then-chief of staff (aka. her grandson Mikael Moore) received an official reprimand.

Rep. Waters continues to keep corruption in the family. Her daughter, Karen Waters, has personally made over $750,000 in a “slate mailer” operation that allows candidates and outside groups to pay for her mother’s political endorsement without breaking the law.

In total, the Waters family is estimated to have made over $1,000,000 from her political connections.

What do they have to show for it? After almost 30 years in Congress, Rep. Maxine Waters has sponsored only three bills that became law, and one was the renaming of a post office.

It’s time to take a stand. The American people aren’t being heard by government because the game is rigged. Washington isn’t broken. It’s “fixed.”
