FreedomWorks Along With Conservative Groups Issues Coalition Letter Urging Congress Not to Bust the Spending Caps

WASHINGTON, D.C. — FreedomWorks along with a coalition of conservative organizations, today issues a letter urging Congress to oppose legislation that would exceed the spending caps established in the 2011 Budget Control Act for either FY 2020 or 2021. Should Congress decide to exceed the 2011 spending caps, it would be the fifth time it has done so.

Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

“Congress may once again consider neglecting its duty as stewards of the taxpayers by agreeing to an outrageous budget deal that blows through the 2011 spending caps. If so-called ‘fiscal conservatives’ in Congress wish to ever again get the nation’s fiscal house in order, adhering to the 2011 spending caps would be a good first step.”
