FreedomWorks Applauds HHS for Finalization of their Health Reimbursement Arrangement Rule

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) finalizing its Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) rule, Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

“This HRA rule will be a major boost for small- and mid-sized businesses across the United States and provide more flexibility for employers and workers. Importantly, it provides a means for employees to take ownership in their health insurance plans, making health insurers more responsive to their needs, rather than a third-party payer like an employer.

“The restriction on HRAs is yet another relic of the Obama administration’s regulatory overreach that has thankfully been cast aside. The deregulation we have seen under the Trump administration has led to great economic growth and more freedom for the American people. This latest move comes in an area that has desperately needed it and the administration should be applauded for its efforts.”
