FreedomWorks Announces Five Figure Ad Buy in Opposition to Hidden Republican Proposal for Medicare for All

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, FreedomWorks launched a campaign calling on Republicans in Congress not to settle for surprise billing proposals that include government-set rates and would put America on a path toward a government-run single-payer system such as “Medicare for all.”

Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Senator Lamar Alexander (R-TN) is advancing a plan to eliminate surprise medical bills by giving bureaucrats in Washington the power to set prices for healthcare across the country. We are disappointed that some in GOP leadership have turned on their commitment to free-market healthcare by advancing proposals that increase regulations and grow government as the ‘solution’ to prevent surprise billing.”

“It’s concerning that Republicans in the Senate would consider advancing such dramatic healthcare reforms without giving the public a transparent process and access to the CBO score requested by Senator Alexander March 21st, we can and we must do better.”

The $50,000+ campaign includes digital ads linking to an action center to contact congress, sponsorship of the Washington Examiner Newsletter and distribution of the Washington Examiner featuring the cover-wrap ad to House, Senate and White House Executive offices in Washington D.C. and select Statehouse offices across the country in advance of the Senate Health Committee markup of Senator Lamar Alexander’s surprise billing proposal (S. 1895, Lower Health Care Costs Act) scheduled for Wednesday, June 26th.
