FreedomWorks Applauds Rep. Thomas Massie for His Amendment to Rename the “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-Ky.) motion to rename the “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019” to “A Bill to Kick the Can Down the Road and for Other Purposes,” Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

"Rep. Massie’s motion to rename the so-called ‘Bipartisan Budget Act’ was entirely appropriate. This bill represents generational theft. Congress is putting off dealing with our fiscal problems because of the lack of political will to address these problems. We’re kidding ourselves if we believe that a sovereign debt crisis won’t happen in America. Sadly, Congress continues to kick the can down the road, making the task of dealing with our fiscal problems more painful."
