FreedomWorks Statement in Response to Ambassador Taylor Testimony Before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to Ambassador William Taylor’s testimony today before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Noah Wall, FreedomWorks Vice President of Advocacy, commented:

“Today’s hearing was supposed to be the smoking gun in Speaker Pelosi’s unilateral impeachment inquiry. Unfortunately for Pelosi and Schiff, their star witness, Ambassador William Taylor, completely failed to prove the Democrat’s case against the President.

“Not only was Taylor unable to successfully make the case that Chairman Schiff’s impeachment narrative is accurate, we learned for certain that he did not receive a first-hand account of what transpired on the July 25 call. Furthermore, Taylor testified that President Zelensky never mentioned a link between aid and an investigation in three separate meetings with him after July 25.

“Although Democratic surrogates in the media will try and portray Ambassador Taylor’s testimony as a bombshell, anyone who was paying attention would clearly see that today’s hearing undermines the case against President Trump. As the hearings continue, the American people will see for themselves how dishonest House Democrats have been throughout this whole process.”
