FreedomWorks Meets with Fulbright Scholars

FreedomWorks Director for Federal and State Campaigns Rob Jordan and Director of Policy Max Pappas addressed a group of 25 Fulbright Scholars from various countries including Germany, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, Palestine, and Haiti. Rob discussed FreedomWorks basic mission and philosophy of employing grassroots tactics to achieve fundamental policy change on behalf of lower taxes, less government, and more freedom.

The group was intrigued by FreedomWorks’ unique approach of going beyond the call of traditional “think tanks” that just study and comment on policy, to actually recruiting, educating, and mobilizing ordinary citizens that believe in FreedomWorks free market mission to lobby their elected officials for policy change. He also talked about the Center for Global Economic Growth project which seeks to export FreedomWorks grassroots organizing expertise to like minded groups in Europe and Latin America.

After the presentation, Rob discussed the CGEG project further with participants that expressed an interest in getting more involved. Max followed Rob’s introduction with an interactive discussion of FreedomWorks top priorities in 2006 including fundamental tax reform and Social Security reform.
