74% Oppose Card Check

This news release claims that 74 percent of voters oppose the Employee Free Choice Act that may see a vote as early as this week in the House.  Under “card check”, unionization will be determined by 50 percent plus one signing a card supporting union certification rather than the current system that gives employers and employees notice and offers time for discussion followed by a secret ballot vote.

A recent study on the Canadian card check system offers evidence that unionization leads to unemployment.  This press release claims that 600,000 jobs could be lost over the first year after the passage of the card check bill.
