FreedomWorks Statement on House’s Passage of the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the House’s passage of the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act, Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

"We applaud the passage of the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act in the House. The tax cuts passed by Congress in December have spurred economic growth and benefited all Americans. The bill that was passed today would make the individual and pass-through businesses tax cuts and reforms permanent and continue to provide American businesses and taxpayers with at least some certainty about the future. We strongly urge the Senate to take action on the Protecting Family and Small Business Tax Cuts Act."

"Although we applaud the passage of this bill today. We urge Congress to work to reduce spending. Republicans have talked about cutting spending for years but never quite seem to get around to keeping their promises. With trillion dollar deficits looming, taxpayers can’t afford to wait any longer for Congress to reduce deficits and debt."
