WHAT: FreedomWorks will host the next Tea Party Debt Commission field hearing in Indianapolis, IN. Local activists are expected to attend, and encouraged to bring their own proposals for specific cuts to the federal budget. The Tea Party Debt Commission consists of twelve members, paralleling the structure of the new “super-committee” created by Congress as part of the recent debt ceiling compromise. Committee members are volunteer tea party activists from a variety of states across the country, including CO, CT, IN, NH, NV, NY, OH, PA, UT, and VA.

WASHINGTON, DC- On Sunday, September 4th FreedomWorks will end its participation in the Tea Party Express "Reclaiming America" tour, and instead stand with local New Hampshire tea party leaders to protest Mitt Romney’s participation as the featured speaker in the tour’s Sunday evening event. The decision was made following the announcement of Romney’s headliner speech on the tour, and a speech made earlier in the tour by big-government Utah Senator Orrin Hatch.
