Health Care is Not a Right

President Obama believes that health care is a right for every American. This is a perversion of the Founding Fathers’ idea of rights. There is an abundance of problems associated with ObamaCare but not enough attention has been paid to the dangerous philosophy behind the law. The underlying problem with ObamaCare is that too many Americans now see health care as a human right rather than a good.

Why Shouldn’t the Rich Pay More in Taxes?

Famous author Stephen King wrote a vulgar article in the Daily Beast calling on Congress to raise taxes on the wealthy. He is just one of several high-profile rich guys, including Warren Buffet and Mark Zuckerberg, that want to pay more in taxes. However, raising taxes on the wealthy is the wrong approach that will hurt everyone.

House Passes Online Privacy Invasive CISPA

The House of Representatives passed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) last night. This is yet another “cyber security” bill that will infringe on online privacy. The bill would encourage private companies such as Google and Facebook to share vast amounts of our private information with the federal government.

Legalize Competing Currencies!

The value of the U.S. dollar is rapidly declining. The dollar is worth roughly half of as much as it was in the mid-1980s. Since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913, the dollar has lost a whopping 97 percent of its purchasing power. The Federal Reserve excessively printing money has devalued our currency which means the dollar can’t buy as much as it used to.

Earth Day Special: Private Property Protects the Environment

This Sunday marks the 42nd anniversary of Earth Day. Over the years, the day has become more focused on political activism and less on personal decisions that individuals can make to help the environment. Hundreds of thousands of self-identified environmentally-conscious people travel to Washington, DC to demand that the federal government act to “protect” the environment.

The Myth of the Gender Wage Gap

President Obama has often criticized the so-called gender wage gap. This is a bit hypocritical since a new study finds that the Obama White House pays women less than men on average. According to the 2011 annual report to Congress on White House staff, the median wage for males was $71,000 while the median wage for females was $60,000—18 percent less.

Senator Rand Paul’s Budget Plan is Still the Best

Rep. Paul Ryan, the Republican Chairman of the House Budget Committee, has released his new budget plan called The Path to Prosperity: A Blueprint for American Renewal. His plan does contain some praiseworthy proposals such as cutting the corporate tax rate, repealing ObamaCare and ending forms of corporate welfare. However, it does not cut a single federal department and doesn’t balance the budget until 2040.

You are invited to join Sen. Rand Paul in a live tele-town hall conference call on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 9 p.m. ET, to hear him discuss his legislation, the Defense of Property Act of 2012 (S. 2122), and answer your questions. This is an important opportunity to discuss the out-of-control Administration’s EPA and what you can do to help Sen. Paul rein in their unchecked power and assault on Americans’ private property.
