Establishment Republicans Surrender: See Whether Your Senators Voted to Fund ObamaCare Here!

Last week, Republicans in the House of Representatives, under great pressure from their constituents, came together and passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government, but which disallowed any funding for ObamaCare. This afternoon, Republicans the U.S. Senate betrayed their House colleagues and their constituents by voting to send the CR back the House with funding for ObamaCare.

Cloture… Which Cloture? Or How to Defund ObamaCare in the Senate

This fight to defund ObamaCare is taking a turn for the arcane as it heads into the more frustratingly obtuse chamber of Congress, the Senate. Although the antiquated system of parliamentary arcana in the Senate helps to slow down bills in order that they receive more thorough and deliberate debate, it also makes the proceeding in that chamber very different for those outside the beltway to understand.

Scroll down to see signers lists. The Continuing Resolution (CR) that allows funding for the federal government expires on September 30th and must be renewed in order for the doors to stay open in Washington. The CR is the best chance we will get to withdraw funds from ObamaCare. This can be done by attaching bills by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) or Congressman Tom Graves (R-GA) to the CR, which will totally defund ObamaCare.

Revised House Farm Bill: See How Your Reps. Voted Here

Today, the House Republican leadership pushed through a new version of the Farm Bill, just a few weeks after an earlier version of the bill failed spectacularly on the floor. It succeeded in passing, 216-208, attracting the majority of Republicans in spite of the fact that it contained no reforms at all that actually improved the bill or reduced its abundance of waste and corporate welfare. You can see the roll call vote HERE.
