FreedomWorks Activists Educate Virginia State Senator on Civil Asset Forfeiture

Monday, October 19 was an interesting day for justice reform in Virginia! I was pleased to gather with activists from the Southwest Virginia Tea Party at the Shoney's in Bristol, Virginia to talk about justice reform. We then traveled to the county courthouse for a GOP meeting where their state senator, Bill Carrico was going to address questions asked in the letters he has been receiving about civil asset forfeiture. On October 8, we had gathered to write letters to Senator Carrico.

FreedomWorks Activists Thank Congressman Mick Mulvaney

On Monday, I was pleased to join FreedomWorks activists from South Carolina's 5th District as they met with their congressman, Mick Mulvaney. Activists thanked Congressman Mulvaney for standing for them and for standing with the House Freedom Caucus. Congressman Mulvaney joined us for a breakfast meeting at the Anna J restaurant in Rock Hill.

Southwest Virginia Tea Party Upset About Civil Asset Forfeiture

Allen Page and I were delighted to spend some time with the Southwest Virginia Tea Party. FreedomWorks sponsored a meeting of the group on Thursday, October 8 at the Shoney's restaurant in Abingdon, Virginia. Southwest Virginia Tea Party Chairman Don Waterman led the meeting. About fifty local activists joined us to write letters to their State Senator, Bill Carrico. Senator Carrico blocked civil asset forfeiture reform! Local activists wrote letters asking him to reconsider his position on this important issue. Senator Carrico is a retired Virginia State Trooper.

Tennessee Activists Gathering

On Tuesday, September 22, Allen Page and I were pleased to join the Tennessee Tea Party for their monthly meeting. The meeting was held at 6:30 at the Legion of Foreign Wars Hall in Mountain City, TN. Chairman Ray Comeaux called the meeting to order and discussed current business. Allen hosted a FreedomWorks information table. Group member, Kevin Leukhardt introduced me to the group. We had a wonderful discussion about FreedomWorks: who we are, what we do, and how we believe that "Government goes to those who show up"!

FreedomWorks at Energy Matters

FreedomWorks was on hand in a major way for Energy Matters! The event was hosted by the First Congressional District of the North Carolina GOP and was held on Friday, September 18 in Williamston, NC at the Deadwood Restaurant. Allen Page and I hosted a FreedomWorks information table and FreedomWorks provided the keynote speakers for the event. Dr Wayne Brough, Vice President of Research at FreedomWorks, and Civil Rights Activist and recent FreedomWorks Activist of the Month, Clarence Henderson, addressed energy issues. Over fifty activists, representing a number of North Carolina counties, were in attendance. The First District North Carolina GOP Chairman is FreedomWorks Super Activist Garry Terry. A special thanks to Garry for inviting FreedomWorks to participate in this important energy event!

NC Activist Meeting

On Monday evening, I was delighted to be invited to join the Wayne County, NC GOP for their monthly meeting. Wayne County, NC GOP President and FreedomWorks Super Activist, Ann Sullivan led the meeting. In addition to a room full of activists, the meeting was attended by two county commissioners and a school board member. Ann had asked me to come to the meeting to share information about our exciting 9-12 Activist Summit.

FreedomWorks Hosts Statewide Tea Party and Liberty Group Meeting In North Carolina

On Saturday, August 22, tea party and liberty group leaders from across North Carolina joined FreedomWorks for fellowship and information. The packed room included over 40 activists from the far regions of the state. Outer Banks Tea Party Chairwoman, Mattie Lawson drove five hours to be with us! Activists shared information about their organizations and the important work they are doing. I was happy to share information about the FreedomWorks upcoming 9-12 Activist Summit to be held in Kissimmee, Florida and information about the important issues FreedomWorks is currently working on.

FreedomWorks At Stokes Tea

Stokes Tea met in King, NC on Thursday, August 20. Allen Page and I were delighted to be able to join them! Members gathered at Lil Italy Pizza for an evening of fellowship and information. Stokes Tea leader, Ramona Timm led the meeting. I spoke to the group about Justice Reform. There was a rousing discussion and a number of interesting questions.
