FreedomWorks Issue Analysis: Paycheck Protection and Pennsylvania

Paycheck protection laws prevent union leadership from spending compulsory membership dues on political expenses prior to obtaining consent from membership as individuals.Paycheck protection programs have proved to be effective, so long as they remain comprehensive. Senate Democrats Think the Budget is a Joke; Sen. Patty Murray is the Punchline

Regardless of the election results, Americans have expressed adamant concern regarding the budget situation in the United States. Whether they are for higher taxes, reduced spending, or some combination of both, American voters realize that 3 and a half years without a budget passed by the Senate and 4 years of $1 trillion+ deficits is unsustainable and unacceptable, especially considering the size of the accumulated federal debt, which is now well over $16 trillion.

AWEA and the Wind PTC: Blowing Hot Air

The Wind Industry is a universal model for efficiency… not in energy production, but in marketing its product. Only the best and brightest marketing team, like our friends at the American Wind Energy Alliance (AWEA) could convince so many Americans and their lawmakers that the federal government should continue to subsidize and industry that is the model of inefficiency in the energy sector.

A Fiscal Cliff Litmus Test: The Wind Energy PTC

Over the next two months, members of Congress, the President, and his staff will be tasked with addressing and correcting the issues of debt, taxes, and spending, unmasked by nearly half a decade of weak economic growth. These issues are complicated no matter how easy either side portrays their solution to be. Years of ambivalence towards the cyclical issues surrounding the country’s finances and economy have led many to make inefficient decisions, and come to depend on the status quo.

Mind the Gap: The Disparity Between Obama's Revenue Increases and Spending on Entitlements

The following study demonstrates that the proposed revenue and tax increases being championed by President Obama will have a negligible impact on the ability of the federal government to finance entitlement programs over the next 15 years. Raising taxes risks economic growth without alleviating the budgetary crisis.

Unemployment in the United States (UnCensored)

The unemployment report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) today showed a .3 percent decrease in unemployment from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent for September. This will no doubt be a cause for celebration among supporters of the president's agenda. However, those who are really monitoring the vitality of the US economy won't be so quick to jump for joy.

The Wind PTC Must be Ended, NOT Expanded

The production of electricity via wind power is a heavily subsidized industry in the United States. Given the inconsistencies and inefficiencies of producing power with wind in conjunction with the heavy government subsidies, American consumers and businesses are having their sweater unraveled at both ends, through higher taxes and higher energy rates.
