FreedomWorks At YALCON 2015!

From July 29 to August 1, FreedomWorks went over to the Catholic University of America campus, where Young Americans for Liberty was hosting their 2015 annual national convention in the heart of Washington, DC. At the convention, several hundred liberty minded students, ranging from the ages of 17 to 25, descended onto our nations capital from every corner of our nation to learn, network, and discuss what they can do to help promote economic freedom and individual liberty in their lifetime.

Mayor de Blasio Calls off Uber Cap Bill

Capitalists and customers throughout the country are celebrating a major free market victory as news that progressive NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has announced that he will not continue to push a city council bill that would have placed a cap on the number of Uber drivers allowed to operate in the city. The news coming from the Mayor's office came in several days after Uber general manager, Josh Mohrer, publicly announced that he wanted to hold a live streaming debate between himself and de Blasio in order to discuss the bill for the public at large to witness; in addition to Mohrer's challenge, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo who recently called Uber “one of the great inventions of this new economy”, which struck a more political blow to de Blasio, seeing how Cuomo has always supported the [populist progressive mayor in the past. Senators Cruz and Paul Push for Common Core Opt-Out Surge

Senate Republicans and GOP presidential contenders Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky jumped in on a congressional effort to strike against Common Core by advocating on behalf of a recent House bill that would increase the opportunity for students to opt-out of Common Core based PARCC testing which has been a force of frustration and unwarranted obstacles to both parents, students, and teachers alike; while additionally criticizing a version of the Senate education bill which did not go far enough.

Conservative Leaders Push Scott Walker to Stop Common Core

On July 6th, fifty-eight prominent grassroots leaders from Wisconsin published an open letter to current governor and possible 2016 contender, Gov. Scott Walker. New Plan For New Jersey to Run Away From Common Core

Plans are in place to propose a way for the state of New Jersey to finally flee the controversy and entanglement of Common Core. The state's Education Commissioner, David C. New Bill to Limit the Number of Uber Drivers in NYC
