FreedomWorks YouTube Contest : Vote Now !

On Nov. 28, 2007, Republican Presidential Candidates are scheduled to meet in Tampa with CNN's Anderson Cooper for a YouTube debate. The format allows anyone to submit questions for the candidates, and CNN selects a few to air during the debate.

FreedomWorks wants the limited government agenda to be a part of the debate. That's why we are announcing the FreedomWorks "Pick Dick Armey's YouTube Flick Contest". In the spirit of this debate, FreedomWorks members will select the question I will ask on behalf of all of our members.

You can vote on your favorite question by selecting one of the options below. Voting will end in two weeks.
Fundamental Tax Reform
The current tax code has over 5.5 billion words, countless forms and instructions, and is too complex for most taxpayers to comprehend. Simply put, it’s a mess. The result is a massive burden placed on both businesses and individuals come tax time every year. In 2007, for example, taxpayers spent 7 billion hours filling out tax forms for the government.

Do you agree that it is time to scrap the tax code and replace it with a new system that is simple, fair, and honest? What would your plan look like?

Social Security/ Entitlements
America is on the brink of a national fiscal and retirement security crisis. Social Security has a $12 trillion unfunded liability, and in 2017 benefits paid will exceed contributions and the program will run into the red. Congress has demonstrated that it will not stop its continual raid on the Social Security Trust Fund, thus the only true way to make the program solvent over the long-run is to set aside real assets in accounts that workers individually own and control.

Do you support truly ending Congress’ raid on Social Security by allowing workers to have personal retirement accounts?

Lawsuit Abuse/ Tort Reform
An elite group of greedy trial lawyers is exploiting our legal system and turning it into "jackpot justice." Over $163 billion is paid each year in damages and lawyers' fees related to tort lawsuits, driving up costs for everyone and reducing innovation and economic growth.

Do agree, and if so, what is your plan to return our legal system to decent, honest Americans with real grievances?

Energy
Energy is vital to the economic success of the U.S. But the energy sector is facing numerous hurdles from environmental groups and regulatory authorities. Many in Congress have complained about high gas and electricity prices, but much of the energy legislation that’s proposed simply creates new barriers, making energy more difficult to obtain, more regulated, and, in the end, more expensive.

What would you do to ensure easy, affordable access to energy for everyone in this country?
