What You Need to Know:

Appropriations bills fund the federal government operations for one fiscal year. If a funding agreement is not reached by September 30, Congress passes a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown. A continuing resolution funds the government for a limited time at the same funding levels as the previous fiscal year. In other words, government spending doesn’t grow. Democrats want a continuing resolution that ends just before Republicans take over Congress in January. We must not let them set funding levels for the remainder of the year and give rogue federal agencies an increase in funding without any accountability.

What You Can Do:

Republicans must do what is necessary to ensure that Biden-Schumer-Pelosi don’t get to pass a massive, pork-filled omnibus bill before Republicans take control of Congress in January.
