The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse.
-James Madison, Speech in the Virginia State Convention of 1829-1830
President Obama, in his recent convention speech, intentionally stressed “citizenship.” The president said:
“But we also believe in something called citizenship – a word at the very heart of our founding, at the very essence of our democracy; the idea that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another, and to future generations.”
Expect to hear “citizenship” over and over. But, what is his motive and goal? I proffer there are two. Primarily, the President and his cohort of czars have very aggressive policy agendas. Their missions are to alter major government programs – healthcare, immigration, energy, environment and more. [Read: Obama's Idealogies Obstruct Good Governance ] Secondly, after the election the President must convince Americans to participate in a shared sacrifice – increased taxes.Missions – change healthcare, immigration ...
President Obama has specific missions to re-create government policy and programs. The most poignant example is ObamaCare. When Obama became president, Democrats completely controlled the government. At that point, Pelosi, Reid and Obama immediately concocted and enacted ObamaCare. Mission accomplished. The federal government controls all aspects of healthcare – patients, doctors, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, insurance and more.
After the 2010 election shellacking and the House now being controlled by Republicans, the President had to bypass Congress. So, our President and his czars used executive orders and manipulated their rule-making powers on policies in welfare, environment, energy, immigration and more. Presently, with the high probability that Republicans will continue to control the House and possibly the Senate, our President is preparing the American public for more czarists' power-plays.
How? President Obama evokes that only government produces good policies, and the obligation of “citizenship” is to obey. The President's words: “But we also believe in something called citizenship.. this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another, and to future generations.” Again, “we accept certain obligations” actually means you the people must accept the policies decreed by government – albeit dictated by policy czars.
Buttressing this czarists' agenda and the obligations of “citizenship” the President claims these power-plays are in accord with America's philosophical origins. “... at the very heart of our founding, at the very essence of our democracy.” Absolutely not.
Our Founders feared the coercive power of government. James Madison, a extraordinarily knowledgeable political theorist and the architect of our Constitution, cogently said: The essence of Government is power; and power, lodged as it must be in human hands, will ever be liable to abuse."
Madison and the Founders were absolutely opposed to Obama's decrees. The Founders sought a government of limited and defined powers. The Constitution's primary focus was to disperse the dangerous power of government, e.g. our three branches, and reserve certain powers to state governments.
Dangerously, President Obama's agenda is to alter our existing policies. His goal is to continue using more executive orders and manipulate our rules and regulations. Obama and his elite cohorts want to command and control health care, immigration policies, education systems, energy industries, banks, Wall Street, businesses, environmental programs and more.
After the election, the President has no intent to reduce government spending. Do you need proof? For one, the czarist decrees will enlarge government, which increases spending. Secondly, Obama's proposed budgets expand the debt forever. Therefore, taxes must be increased and everyone will be taxed more – much more.
Why? The President and every sentient politician knows America's world dominance - philosophical, cultural, economic and military – is imperiled. Hence, rather than cutting spending, Obama will demand tax increases, and will implore this is a duty of “citizenship.”Conclusion:
Obama's agenda on energy, immigration, health care, and environment can only be commanded by executive orders and manipulating rules and regulations. Next, the debt must be reduced. Thus, loyal and obedient “citizens” must embrace and support executive orders and increased taxes.Alternative:
Needless-to-say there is an alternative. Prevent a second term by Obama.
At a minimum, we need to enact Paul Ryan's spending cuts. Even better would be to enact the Tea Party Budget, which reduces spending by nearly $10 trillion in 10 years. [Read: Obama: "The government we have is not the government we need."]
As usual, only We the People can stop big government, big spending, and bad governance.
