FreedomWorks Applauds Trump Administration Decision to Officially Withdraw From Paris Climate Agreement

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the Trump administration’s decision today to submit paperwork to officially withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:

“The administration’s decision today to officially withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement is a huge win for American consumers and businesses. Under the Paris Climate Agreement, Americans would have been subject to higher energy bills and an unreliable electricity grid, all for no significant reduction in carbon emissions.”

“The United States leads in carbon emissions reduction, not because of ridiculous, big government accords such as the Paris Climate Agreement, but because of private investment in natural gas and emissions reduction technology. With the Trump administration’s decision to officially withdraw from Paris Climate, American energy independence will be assured for future generations.”
