FreedomWorks Co-Leads Letter with FGA on Pandemic Unemployment Programs and Anti-Work Child Tax Credit

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, FreedomWorks and the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) sent a letter to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell with a total of two dozen aligned organizations to prioritize ending all federal pandemic unemployment programs and not making the anti-work changes (via ARP) to the child tax credit permanent.

Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Nearly a year and a half since governments’ responses to COVID-19 devastated our economy, it is more clear than ever that the continual push for more pandemic programs, and extensions of them, are nothing more than a political ploy to push Americans onto government dependence.

“Americans deserve better from their elected lawmakers in Washington than systematic bankrupting of our country at the expense of the workforce and businesses nationwide. It is long past time to end these harmful programs.”
