FreedomWorks Foundation Drives 2,194 Comments to USCIS In Support of Reforms to Asylum Processing

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In response to the FreedomWorks Foundation’s Regulatory Action Center (RAC) driving 2,194 comments to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Dan Savickas, FreedomWorks Foundation Regulatory Policy Manager, commented:

“FreedomWorks Foundation is happy to support acting USCIS Director Cuccinelli and his proposed reform to applicant processing. An arbitrary 30-day deadline to grant or deny employment applications for asylees denies USCIS the time it needs to conduct proper background checks and diverts agency resources away from other legal immigrants.

“We are also proud of the passion displayed by our activists. Their comments accounted for more than two-thirds of those submitted to this docket. RAC’s overarching goal is to make engaging with the federal bureaucracy as simple and commonplace as it is for activists to engage with their members of Congress. This is exactly what we did here with this proposal.”
