FreedomWorks Foundation Submits Formal Comment to the Department of Energy Opposing Return to Obama-Biden Dishwasher Standards

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, FreedomWorks Foundation submitted a formal comment to the Department of Energy (DOE) opposing its proposed rule to return to the inefficient Obama-Biden water and electricity standards for dishwashers and, in the process, eliminate the faster class of dishwashers that cleaned dishes thoroughly in one cycle.

Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“Americans lead busy lives; the beauty of faster, more efficient appliances is that they make Americans’ lives easier by taking care of critical household needs. The fact that this administration has proposed a return to the Obama-Biden dishwasher rule shows just how little the left cares about the lives of everyday working Americans. They would rather appease radical environmentalists.

“And lest we forget, this rule doesn’t even help the environment–it actually wastes more water and electricity than older dishwashers by requiring several cycles or hand-washing to get dishes clean after they come out of slow, shoddy, though ‘environmentally-friendly’ machines. A return to the Obama-Biden era of burdensome overregulation would help no one, and instead, make a mockery of what the people want while doing little in the way to actually help the environment. The people have spoken loud and clear: Don’t regulate our dishwashers!”
