FreedomWorks Foundation Submits Formal Comments to President Biden’s Commission on the Supreme Court

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, FreedomWorks Foundation submitted a formal comment to President Biden’s Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States opposing its consideration of ‘reforms’ that would fundamentally change the Court and turn it into a weapon of partisan politics.

Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks President, commented:

“The Supreme Court was intended by the Founders to be an apolitical branch of government, tasked with protecting Americans’ constitutional rights and standing apart from the muck of partisan politics. The leftist schemes receiving serious consideration in the President’s committee, namely court packing, would do nothing but undermine Americans’ confidence in the rule of law and make the Court a political body, subject to the whims of corrupt lawmakers.

“As the Supreme Court begins its 2021-2022 term today with several high-profile cases on the docket, Americans should be mindful of the machinations of the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States. We here at FreedomWorks urge the executive branch to refrain from meddling with the operations of the Court. The Court’s one and only allegiance should be to the Constitution.”
