WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In response to the introduction of the Federal Employee Disclosure (FED) Transparency Act, H.R. 2612, by Rep. Jody Hice (R-Ga.), FreedomWorks has issued a letter of support. Jason Pye, FreedomWorks Vice President of Legislative Affairs, commented:
“Rep. Hice’s FED Transparency Act is a critical step towards better oversight of how taxpayer dollars are being spent on pensions and bonuses for federal employees, especially federal employees who have been subject to controversy. Federal pensions are a $3.5 trillion unfunded liability and roughly $1.1 billion is handed out in the form of bonuses to federal employees.”
“Pension records are hidden from public view, leaving taxpayers in the dark on how much someone like disgraced former IRS official Lois Lerner may be recieve in pension benefits. Labor union contracts may prevent taxpayers from learning more about bonuses given to federal employees who may have had conduct issues or whether bonuses are even justified. Taxpayers have a right to know this information, and the FED Transparency Act would shed light where it’s sorely needed.”
It would be best to make this a right to work country and ditch the Jones Act to help Puerto Rico and other territories. I thought the Supremes already decided a case against unions diverting all political donations to Dem Party. Not enough!
