FreedomWorks Launches Tea Party Action Center “FreedomConnect” In Ohio

Who: FreedomWorks staff, led by President and CEO Matt Kibbe, will be hosting 50-60 top Ohio activists and tea party group leaders to the official launch of “FreedomConnect,” a grassroots action center that will revolutionize the ways in which FreedomWorks members, 9/12ers and tea party groups across the country communicate and organize in 2011 and beyond.

What: FreedomWorks activists, armed with laptops and large amounts of caffeine, will meet for a formal training and general overview of the FreedomConnect technology as part of a nationwide rollout. Media are welcomed and encouraged to attend any part of the session.

Where: Fairfield Inn & Suites- Columbus Polaris, 9000 Worthington Road, Columbus, OH 43082. There will be a sign that reads "FreedomWorks technology training" outside the designated training room.

When: Tuesday November 16, 2010 from 7-9:30pm ET

Why: Since 1984, FreedomWorks has been dedicated to the belief that grassroots power, armed with the principles and good ideas of freedom, is the only effective check against a burgeoning government. In the years since the historic “9/12/09 Taxpayer March on Washington,” FreedomWorks has been working to develop tools that will empower local activists to create a ground game that will win elections and transform grassroots conservatism into lasting political change.

From its inception, FreedomWorks’ Take America Back in 2010 campaign has been a grassroots movement organized on the ground and connected online. FreedomWorks members and Tea Partiers around the country connected with one another through the use of peer-to-peer networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Ning- yet even these platforms have their limitations.

For this reason, FreedomWorks is launching never-before-seen technology that will allow Tea Party Members to collaborate on one platform. Dubbed “FreedomConnect,” this new venue will allow Tea Party activists to connect with local groups and citizens and find events nearby.

FreedomWorks seeks to support and maximize -not control- the efforts of those citizens who are committed to the ideals of lower taxes, less government, and more freedom. Our aim is to act as a service center, a true resource to those who share our desire to Take America Back and to restore our Founding Fathers’ original vision of economic freedom and liberty. We hope to see you tonight!
