FreedomWorks Names Member and Bill of the Month for May 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This week, FreedomWorks announced Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) as our featured Member of the Month and the National Right to Work Act, S. 406 and H.R. 1275, introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) as our featured Bill of the Month for May 2021.

On his selection as FreedomWorks’ Member of the Month for May 2021, Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) commented:

“The fight to defend our Constitution and our liberties is more important than ever. FreedomWorks understands this and is unafraid to take a stand on the most important issues of our time. It’s an honor to be named as their May 2021 ‘Member of the Month,’ and I will continue to work with them to advocate for less government and more freedom.”

On the selection of the National Right-to-Work Act, S.406, as FreedomWorks’ Bill of the Month for May 2021, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) commented:

“The National Right to Work Act protects workers from being forced to join a union and pay dues as a condition for employment. It respects their fundamental right to freedom of association, and I thank FreedomWorks for their continued support and recognition of my bill. Now is time for the federal government to follow the lead of my home state of Kentucky and 26 other states by passing Right to Work.”

On the selection of the National Right-to-Work Act, H.R. 1275, as FreedomWorks’ Bill of the Month for May 2021, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) commented:

“Hard-working Americans should not be forced into joining a union, abiding by union rules and contracts, or paying union dues. The National Right-to-Work Act protects the freedoms of American workers, giving them the option to join or not join a union instead of being automatically enrolled upon employment. As a right-to-work state, South Carolina has seen firsthand the benefits of job creation and a robust economy when we expand and protect freedom in all its forms. It was crucial for South Carolina in the journey to become the leading manufacturer and exporter of tires, with Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, and Giti, while also being America’s largest exporter of cars with BMW and Volvo.

“I appreciate FreedomWorks for highlighting the National Right-to-Work Act as the Bill of the Month and standing up for American workers.”
