FreedomWorks Radio: Tax Day Blues Special Edition

Having fun doing your taxes this year? We thought so. It doesn’t have to be this way; FreedomWorks is fueling the tax revolt from coast to coast and will cover the topic in our next radio show. On Thursday, April 7th at 2:00 PM EST, “The FreedomWorks Show” will host a “Tax Day Blues” Special Edition online radio program at RightTalk, com.

The professionally produced program is part of the Rightalk.com network, a conservative Internet radio web site, and is available for free streaming download. On “The FreedomWorks Show,” guests will discuss Freedom Agenda issues on both the national and state levels, as well as an update on FreedomWorks activities across the country.

The April 7th program, titled “Tax Day Blues,” will look at the cost and dysfunction of the current tax code, and the solutions for reform. FreedomWorks Policy Director and tax reform expert Max Pappas and will discuss the benefits of fundamental tax reform, the legislative outlook, and what activists can do help scrap the code.

The second segment of the show will deal with an important state tax battle. FreedomWorks Volunteer Leader Kathy Hartkopf from North Carolina will discuss our activists’ fight against the 900 percent cigarette tax hike. FreedomWorks members in the state have been very successful in fighting against tax increases in the past, and the new campaign against this hike is already in full swing.

FreedomWorks activists are encouraged to call in and discuss legislative and grassroots strategy with FreedomWorks staff. If you’d like to call in to “The FreedomWorks Show”, please dial (866)-884-8255 (TALK) between 2:05 PM and 2:40 PM EST.

FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe commented:

“Our tax system is in desperate need of change. The complicated 60,000 page federal tax code is mired in special interest loopholes and punishes savings and investment—the engines of economic growth. Furthermore, Americans are taxed too much on all levels of government. That’s why FreedomWorks activists are working tirelessly, state by state, to lower the tax burden for all Americans.”
